The Need for Speed: Most Wanted demo lets you try out one of the hottest action games before you commit to buy. If you're like most gamers, you know that some computer games look great in the trailers but don't deliver on the promises of those trailers. Instead of wasting your money on a game you may only play once or twice, you can download a demo to get a feel for the game and try it out for free.

Electronic Arts is one of the top game design companies around, but despite releasing some hit games over the years, many fans know it for its Need for Speed games. Originally released in 2005, Need for Speed: Most Wanted quickly became one of the top games among racing fans. Electronic Arts and Criteria Games released a brand new version of this classic game in 2012 that combines modern elements with the game that so many loved.

Unlike other demos that limit what you can do and tell you little about the actual game, this demo puts you right in the driver's seat. You can pick from four different amazing cars to play in the demo, and you can pick a new car each time you play. The demo even lets you make some of the modifications that you would in the full game, including swapping out the tires, changing the engine and buying aftermarket parts with in-game money.

Once you select a car and make your changes, you can take it out for a spin. The Need for Speed: Most Wanted demo features two impressive tracks. Select one of those tracks to race against competitors created by the game itself. You'll even have the chance to hit the road and take off on a chase across the city with the police hot on your tail.

As the 10th game in the Need for Speed franchise, Most Wanted delivers all the high-paced action and fun that you crave. Set in Rockport City, the game includes both traditional races and police chases that will leave you on the edge of your seat. Electronic Arts even included a short trailer that shows you some of the scenes and action you can expect to see in the full game. If you're on the fence about buying Need for Speed: Most Wanted, download the demo to give the game a try before you buy.

Pros:

  • Four cars and two tracks to choose from
  • High-speed police chase races
  • Access to the same modifications found in the full game
  • Interesting story that pulls you into the action
  • Fun and action-packed trailer for the full game

Cons:

  • Computerized racers are tough competitors
  • Has a slight lag that some won't like
  • Older graphics don't deliver the pop of newer Need for Speed games
